a STUDY OF LIGHTNING AND THUNDER day in the life of me...

Lightning is an atmospheric discharge of electricity accompanied by thunder, which typically occurs during thunderstorms, and sometimes during volcanic eruptions or dust storms.
Thunder is the sound made by lightning.

Emily and I sat in our front room last night watching a beautiful summer thunderstorm rip across the sky. Lightning flashed, crashed and danced. Some of the strikes were so big it lit up the whole room.
E: What purpose do you think there is in why God created thunder and lightning?
S: Well. I think they just exist because of the electricity in the air.

Is there a purpose? Other than the natural cause and effect of things working together in nature - oh and the beauty it provides us spectators.

I'm curious - what do you guys think?
